Makati to Tagaytay in the Philippines

South of Manila in the province of Cavite is a very popular tourist destination called Tagaytay which is known for it’s mild climate. Well mild, it’s not as hot and humid as Manila, but still up there when compared to other places 🙂

Tagaytay sits on a ridge above Taal Volcano Island which is an active volcano in the Taal lake.

A great spot to see all of the area is from the Peoples Park in the Sky which is on the grounds of the never finished presidential mansion. There is also a recreation area with walking trails and zip line and other attractions called Picnic Grove.

We’re on our way too Tagaytay from Makati. Figure out what lane to be in let can be a challenge

Load up with as many people as possible, these trikes, small motorbike with side car and seating where ever it’s possible can carry 7+ passengers.

The Philippines is full of traders. You can buy almost anything you may want or need on the side of the road.
No lanes on roads, it’s a case of fit where there is a gap and give way to anyone in your forward visual field
With a whole range of activities from a zip-line ride to walking trails to horse riding Picnic Grove is a great location to come and visit.
Dianne on a small horse. She really wasn’t sure and Iya in the background thought it was the funniest thing she can’t stop laughing 🙂
Out driver while in the Philippines. It’s quite a challenge to drive in Manila so decided to leave it to an expert from Van’s Unlimited Van Rentals.

Having dinner in these bamboo huts in Tagaytay was quite different. They have musicians that come and seranade you while you eat.
The bamboo hut tables lined out the front of the main resteraunts providing a semi-private dinning experience
